The sports facility has a relatively young history: Biathlon competitions were held in Val Martello for the first time in 1992. Soon after, the biathlon section was founded within the Martello amateur sports club. Over the years, a great facility developed that is known and loved far beyond the country's borders.

The biathlon center in Martell has a lot to offer all year round: While you can train hard on the roller track and at the shooting range in summer, national and international biathlon races such as the IBU Cup and the 2025 European Biathlon Championships are on the program in winter.
